Plain Talk

Plain talk, not plane talk...

In college, I won an award for "verbose vernacular". These days, I've retired from using big words.

Ernest Hemingway was on to something. Writing is making ideas clear with maximum impact. Big words can help but often obfuscate instead. (See what I did there?)

In other words, every word matters so make them count. Cut the ramblings ("verbose"). Use small words when big words aren't needed ("vernacular"). Leave only the essence from the words remaining.

Plain talk is often best, so start there.
